Midlife Magic Journal

Wanna know what I wish more moms talked about?

No, it’s not sleep hacks or where to score the most buttery leggings. (though I love those topics, too!)

I wanna go deeper than that. More meaningful. More messy. I wanna talk about the uncomfortable, courageous work of navigating the motherhood midlife crisis. Or unraveling. Or awakening. Whatever you call it, I want to start normalizing this conversation.

Any of these sound familiar?

  • You feel lost.
  • You're tired of questioning + quieting your voice.
  • You've become acutely aware that life's short + want to live in alignment with your authentic self.
  • You want to become LESS unconscious/reactive and MORE conscious/responsive.

You ask yourself questions like...

  • How much longer can I endure pretending and performing?
  • Will I still be using the same knee-jerk coping mechanisms to deal with my shame?
  • Am I going to be the REAL ME or the facade I have been portraying since I was a little girl?

{Pro-tip: turns out, trips to Target and scrolling Facebook don't have the answers to these questions. Ask me how I know…}

Rest assured, you're not alone.

If the universe has been nudging you to re-examine your life, if you're ready to reclaim your voice that you've been conditioned to suppress, consider the (digital) Midlife Magic Journal your divine invitation to do just that.

Each week will focus on the following themes:

#1 Redefining Your Values

Most adults inherited their values from their parents. This is the chance to define what's uniquely important to you.

#2 Reclaiming Your Worthiness

Maybe you grew up believing you weren't worthy. In this section, we'll work on kicking that belief to the curb and overwriting it with a more empowering narrative.

#3 Breaking Cycles

This is your chance to disrupt patterns and decide what type of generational legacy you want to leave behind for yourself and your children.

#4 Writing Your Own Story

It's never too late to be the author of your own story. You'll get clear on what lights you up and learn how to infuse more of that into your life!

I've Been Where You Are

Having gone through my own midlife unraveling, primarily born from becoming a mother, I know how lonely and disorienting this journey can be.

I’ve come to understand that this bridge from midlife crisis to midlife magic is a chance to integrate the parts of ourselves that have been lost along the way.

This "crisis" is your soul's call to heal wounds that have been festering for decades, showing up in the way you parent, the way you relate to your partner, and how you view your place in the world.

Here's what else I know: you've thrown your heart + soul into motherhood, hoping to raise kind, compassionate kids. But, slowly, over time, you realize that after all these years of mothering, serving, and sacrificing...you somehow lost yourself along the way.

I've been there and so have countless other moms. Through this digital journal, I will give you the step-by-step guidance to come back home to yourself, redefine what's important to you, and get clarity on how to navigate - and thrive - during this season of motherhood.

The biggest risk is doing nothing. Do something.

This was exactly what I needed to take a deep look at my life...

It has super simple prompts, and easy to implement concepts that gave me a light at the end of the tunnel. The guide is set up with busy moms in mind. It takes very little time, with a HUGE impact. I'm so grateful for the Midlife Magic Journal for helping me to get back to center again!!

SHELLY ROBINSON  //  Founder of Raising Yourself

Shelly Robinson is a certified holistic family wellness coach, cycle-breaker, conscious parenting educator, and founder of the Raising Yourself movement.

Her passion in life is to empower moms to turn their midlife crisis into midlife magic by teaching them how to reparent themselves, disrupt generational patterns, and take radically good care of their needs.

When she's not connecting with her online community or geeking out on the latest neuroscience of cycle-breaking, she's probably making a mess in the kitchen with her two kids, trying to find her way out from under a pile of laundry, or snuggling up to a good mystery on the couch with her hubs + two pups.

This journal helped me rediscover who I really am...

After years of ignoring my instincts, I realized that I had lost sight of who I was. I was ready to change this and to rewrite my story. This journal helped me to rediscover who I truly am by asking the right questions and gently leading me back to myself. It also helped me to stay accountable by having me check in with myself  in the morning and in the evening which was extremely important for my growth.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much time will this journal take?

This journal requires approximately 15 minutes a day of focused commitment to get the most out of it! Or, as my 5yo would say, "that's the same amount of time as a Curious George episode!"

Who is this journal for?

This guide is for the mom who's tired of living on autopilot and going through the motions. It's for the woman who's ready to rediscover her voice, passions, and truest version of herself that may have gotten swallowed up in the miracle & messiness of motherhood.

Do I need a printer for this journal?

Absolutely not! While you are, of course, more than welcome to print it, you can also record all your answers in a notebook or journal you already own.

Can dads use this journal?

For sure! While there are some "mom" references peppered throughout, all the questions and prompts inside can definitely apply to fathers as well.

Can I do this with a friend?

Definitely. While you can certainly reap the benefits of this journal by doing it by yourself, I believe they would be amplified even more by finding a bestie to do this important work with.
